    The National Geographic Society will recognize Geography Awareness Week Nov. 12-18, including GIS Day that week. “GIS Technology is Changing Our World” will provide area professionals and others the opportunity to learn more about GIS applications and to see their use in action. GIS Day is observed globally and builds awareness about geographic information system (GIS) technology and the impact that GIS applications have on a variety of natural, physical and social sciences' fields of study and occupations, certainly STEM related fields.
